I was truly delighted to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Gambian Community Wales Association for the second consecutive year. The event was a remarkable celebration of teamwork, progress, and community spirit — bringing together Gambians and friends from across Wales to reflect on achievements and renew their shared commitment to collective growth.
Over the years, I have observed the Association’s steady progress and its inspiring ability to unite people around a common vision. Their teamwork, transparency, and inclusive approach serve as a model for many other communities across Wales and beyond. The Gambian Community Wales Association continues to stand out as a beacon of how cultural pride, leadership, and collaboration can build stronger, more connected communities.
A special highlight of the evening was the presentation of an Award of Excellence by Mr. Abdikarim Abdi Adan, Chief Executive Officer of the Advocacy and Capacity Development Association (ACDA), to President Mr. Kamba Sam, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and tireless dedication to the community. His exemplary service and ability to bring people together have been instrumental in the Association’s continued success and unity.
